Basic rules, third card
In the standard case, the player and the banker are dealt two cards each. After that, if necessary, the special rules of the third card are triggered. Additional distribution may be required.
The maximum number of cards per side is 3.
A draw is declared on the condition that there is an equality of values at the end of the round. Rates are returned. If the first two cards of one of the opponents add up to 8 or 9, the rules of the third card do not apply. The side that gets a nine or eight wins.
With sums of 0-7, one of the rules of the third card is triggered.
Regardless of the features of the chosen version of Baccara, we recommend trying different strategies and tactics.
Features of the rules of the third card
Noteworthy and important are the rules of the third card. They work in different situations in favor of both the banker and the player. But they do not always lead to a victory for one of the parties.
For example, if the player has the sum of the first two cards dealt:
- 0-5, then the distribution of the third is assumed;
- 6-7, then the third card is eliminated;
- 8-9, then an additional is not issued to either side.
If it comes to a banker, then the basic rules of the third card are as follows:
- 0-2 points – distribution of the third card;
- 3-6 points is an ambiguous situation. If a player has received a third card, its value will determine whether his opponent, the banker, will receive an additional one;
- 7 points – the third card is eliminated;
- 8-9 – everything is the same here as in the case of the rules for the player.
An interesting situation is when there is dependence on the player’s third card. An additional rule is triggered. If the sum of the values of the player’s first two cards is 6-7, then the banker’s 3-5 results in the need to distribute the third. With six, the latter disappears.
If the player has received an additional card, and it is:
- deuce, while the first two cards of the banker give a value of 0-4, the last one receives the third. If the total value is 5-7, no additional card is issued;
- four or five, while the banker holds 0-5, the third card is given to him. The player’s opponent will not get it if the “starting” value is 6-7;
- six or seven, while the first two cards of the banker give 0-6, he is dealt a third card. If the player’s opponent has 7 points, the third card is discarded;
- eight, while the amount in the hands of the banker is 0-2, a third card is needed. In case he holds 3-7 points, the latter is not needed.
Similar rules work with the eight, nine, ten.
If the basic rules are clear, we recommend playing Baccarat right now. Try your luck!
Player and banker hands
Third card rules apply provided that:
- the player’s hand is 0-5. With 6-7, two cards are kept, with 8-9, no one receives an additional one;
- the banker’s hand falls on the values from the list presented earlier, and the marked conditions also work. So, if the player holds 6-7 points, and the banker – up to six, then the third card is dealt to the latter.
